Woman Starts Fire In Office To Get Out Of Work
Last week we talked about a New York City bartender arrested for his trick flaming shots, this week we bring you a woman who just didn’t want to work:
Pasco sheriff’s investigators said Michelle Perrino, 40, started a fire at Bayonet Point Oxygen on May 12, 2009.
Instead of starting a fire to get out of work, wouldn’t you just play it a little safer by looking for a new job? Then again, it’s probably easier to get caught doing that than starting a fire, unless you fall for the oldest trick in the book:
Perrino drew suspicion when she mentioned the fire’s origin — a filing cabinet — during an employee meeting. Employees had not been told where the fire started.
Nobody said lazy pyromaniacs were the brighest bulbs. But we do have to note Perrino’s persistency in trying to get out of work:
Sheriff’s reports also quoted Perrino’s friend, who said she told him she also tripped the main breaker for the office building so it would lose power and adjusted the phones so no calls could come in, all so she would be sent home from work early with pay.
The end result? Perrino will be in a prison for nine months. God only knows what kind of schemes she’ll try get out of there early.
No word on her employment status, but we imagine she’s…fired. Boom.
