My commute this morning was awful – major delays caused hundreds of people to try and jam onto the few spots on the train, fighting and clawing like animals for that last spot!Ah well, at least they weren’t actual wild animals attacking, like the poor woman in this case of the Mondays.

Jogging with her dog in a park near Seattle, Washington, 28 year old Michaela Lee ran into trouble. Her dog spotted a few raccoons, instincts kicked in, and the chase was on.

Unfortunately for her, the group of raccoons included a momma raccoon and her pups. According to the report, at least 5 large raccoons went into attack mode, with Lee as the target.

“I felt like they were hunting me, ‘taking me down’ pack mentality. There were five of them,” said Lee.

She made it about 75 feet before the animals took her down, in a gnarly mess of teeth and claws.

She ended up with about 100 wounds, consisting of scratches, scrapes and puncture wounds. About 16 to 18 were puncture or bite wounds.

A brief hospital stay brought her back to health, but a tramatic event none the less.  The survivor plans to carry bear mace with her in the future.

Now that Monday morning commute doesn’t quite look as terrible, in comparison. Cheer up, happy Monday.
