Video: Cheese Rolling in England

0

Cheese is a beautiful thing, if you’re not lactose intolerant.

But I wouldn’t hurdle myself down a hill for a wheel of cheese. Each year, groups of people do this on Cooper’s Hill in England. I couldn’t be more serious — there’s an official Web site.

Why are we telling you about this? Because I showed all my coworkers on Wednesday and hilarity ensued:

Don’t worry, I went ahead and did the research for you:

-There’s a one-second delay from once the cheese is released before competitors take off.
-It’s done in May. But, no, you can’t go this year. It was canceled this year because of crowd safety. They’ll try again in 2011.
-The cheese is a double Gloucester wheel. I found one online for $68 plus shipping. Seems cheaper than a concussion.

Hope you had a good laugh. Happy Friday.
