The Collared Sheep and Staples #CelebrateAdmins

0

The 60th Anniversary of National Administrative Professionals Day is right around the corner and since your boss is likely to forget and you can’t contain your excitement – Staples is throwing a party in honor of YOU!

On April 25th, celebrate NAP Day (most applicable acronym ever) by joining Staples’ Twitter party from 1-2pm ET. There will be awesome prizes like a new laptop and tablet. Admin swag! That’s actually better than pizza:

But the fun doesn’t stop. Between now and when the sun goes down April 24, make sure you tweet @Staples using the hashtag #CelebrateAdmins. The Collared Sheep will be checking in with the #newsfromthecube sheep to find the funniest #CelebrateAdmin tweets. We’ll post a collection of the best tweets on National Administrative Professionals Day and put the vote up to you.

Whoever you think is funniest will take home some more swag courtesy of our friends at Staples.com. Win and you’ll likely have the most professional notebook in your office with a your new Arc by Staples. Even if the pages inside are covered with your doodling during meetings, you’ll be viewed as a total pro if you finally replace your “Space Jam” binder from 7th grade.

Some tips:
-We have a special place in our heart for Admins. Celebrate them.
-Celebrate is a very generic term. You can celebrate people in many different ways. Don’t forget that.
-You know we like funny. So make it funny. Make your tweets stand out.
-Feel free to tweet multiple times. We’ll pick the best one of your bunch.

If you need some more inspiration, you should check out this amazing survey by Staples.com on Facebook & Twitter.

Or, if you’re scared of links, we’ve pulled out our favorite findings:
– Nearly two-thirds of respondents (65.2 percent) felt the office would be more likely to fall apart without the administrative assistant than without the boss (30.3 percent)
– Respondents confess admins know their day better than a spouse (41.6 percent vs. 33.5 percent)
– Admins report filling official and unofficial roles in the office, everything from human resources director, to therapist, even the miracle worker
– Team Pam: Pam Halpert of “The Office” ranks as the most beloved office assistant (31.4%), followed by Mimi Bobeck of “The Drew Carey Show” (28.9%). Joan Holloway of “Mad Men” was a distant third (19.6%). Six times as many people prefer Pam over The Office’s Erin Hannon.

Alright, get tweeting. And if you know real admins, be nice to them immediately.
