In the “spirit” of tax day, I thought it was only fitting to share this throwback video, “The Spirit of ‘43,” featuring Walt Disney’s Donald Duck.

Boy, times have changed. First off, the government doesn’t provide us with these fantastic videos reminding us to pay our taxes. Second, the thought of paying taxes today isn’t left to a moral decision – we get fined. Back in ’43, you’re either pro-America or a bastard if you don’t pay taxes. Who wants to be associated with a Scrooge’esque character known for partying at Axis bars? I sure don’t.

With the ending of WWII and invention of the W2, this video became a moot point.  It’s just a shame we don’t have these awesomely American propaganda videos anymore. Go America!
