Sporcle.com — Ultimate Coworker Competition
I don’t care what your background is, everyone has the competitive edge in them.
My coworkers and I have competitions all the time. We have side bets on day baseball games, we have paper tossing competitions, we have bets on what our bosses are going to do during training.
But the best competitions we have in the office are courtesy of Sporcle.com. As they put it, “mentally stimulating diversions.” Can’t sum it up better than that.
The concept is simple: There’s a category, a timer and a box to put your answers.
There are tons of different games. Enough to keep you busy. And most of the games are great, and often topical.
Some of the random ones: 1-100 (type 1 through 100 in less than a minute), ingredients in a Boston Cream Pie and things that start with “M”.
The game sets itself up. Who can finish the quiz faster. And if nobody finishes, who gets the most right in the allotted time.
Again, mentally stimulating diversions. A great Web site.
