A fellow sheep recently sent us some good old fashioned advice — Sign out of Facebook when you’re done. Looks like his whole company found out the hard way.

I worked in the budget office of a military building two years ago as a budget analyst. As budget analyst, you really don’t have much to do once you have finished writing the daily, weekly or annual report you need to submit for the high-ups to talk about. Needless to say, there’s a lot of down time, which also means there’s a lot of eBay, free Napster, deal-a-day sites and Facebook time.

Well, I usually exit out of these sites when I leave my cube, but one day in particular there was a pressing issue (I am hoping it was a pressing issue or else I would feel like a real schmuck) and I had to leave my desk – leaving the Facebook window open. After the issue, and lunch, I returned to my desk hours later and finally closed the window. Well, at the end of the day, or maybe even during the day, the IT folks down in the basement check the Internet logs and see what sites were getting most of the hours.

So I come in the next day to find some of my co-workers looking glum. I had only been working there for three weeks, but I had already managed to get Facebook blocked for the whole building. Way to go me.
