Occupational Hazard: Man Kicks Bus Driver in Head

0

Getting kicked in the head while driving this is a definite occupational hazard.

The bus is a special place that transports a lot of special people.

I’ve taken the bus from New York to Washington, Boston, etc. Each time I leave with a story that’s better than the last. I’ve had the pleasure of sharing a row with an avid member of the VampireFreaks.com community. I’ve been stuck at the Lincoln Tunnel with three women that checked in at about .75 of a ton, yelling at people on cell phones about the traffic.

But the bus drivers have always been pleasant. I’ve actually never had a bad bus driver. I even thought about how it would be to haul people from one destination to another. Is it good money?

All of those dreams were dashed after I read about this doozey:

A Kansas man was arrested Monday night when he allegedly assaulted a Greyhound bus driver and caused a crash on Interstate 70 in Sevier County.

I’ve heard of confrontations between passengers. Everyone’s heard about the guy who decapitated someone on the bus in Canada.

But attacking the bus driver? That’s where I draw the line as an employee. Based on how this story is shaping up, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out the guy flipped because he didn’t have enough time to go to Popeyes AND TCBY at the last rest stop.

So if you’re ever thinking about becoming a bus driver, just keep in mind the occupational hazards that come with it.
