Man Calls ‘Friend’ For Help With Car Trouble; ‘Friend’ Robs Man
Last week one of my only friends at work didn’t show up Monday morning. I hit him up on Gchat (he has a Droid), and he told me he was sitting on the side of the highway waiting for a tow truck. Ouch.
That’s a definite case of the Mondays.
An even bigger case of the Mondays would be if he called me for help, I showed up, let me in the car and robbed him at gunpoint:
Once the car took off, the report continued, Vega pointed a … gun at the victim’s head and told him to empty his pockets. [The 'friend'] took the victim’s wallet, $350 in cash, credit cards and identification. But [the 'friend'] wasn’t finished. He also relieved the victim of his shoes – a pair of Lacoste valued at nearly $400.
That’s a dagger. Hundreds of dollars worth of cash and shoes, in addition to credit cards AND his radiator.
So many questions about this:
1. I’d really like to know if this ‘friend’ allegedly snapped or if he was always a little on the shady side. I’m guessing the latter.
2. If you’re driving a car around in Florida in the summer, as the victim in this story was, and your car overheated, you’re probably not driving a Bentley GT. You’re probably not even driving a newer model Hyundai. WHY ARE YOU WEARING $400 SHOES? He’s wearing a car payment on his feet and has a whole separate car payment in his wallet.
3. How did the alleged assailant think he would get away with this? Did he think the victim would let it slide because they were boys?
Alright, I’m done with this story.
The moral? If you’re having a tough Monday, even if you had some car trouble this morning, just remember: You could have been robbed by your friend after said car trouble.
Have a good Monday.
