Infographic: Top 10 Cities to Get Your First Job after College
With the economy ever so slightly improving, college graduates may now have a chance to choose between several jobs rather than taking whatever they can get.
When deciding between several jobs, it’s important to factor in average rent into the equation. Just ask any New Yorker.
The infographic below illustrates the top 10 cities that provide the best financial return for college graduates. What is surprising though, is that the major cities such as Boston, Houston, and Washington DC aren’t the most favorable places on the list. It happens to be Raleigh, North Carolina. The average rent of only $815 per month allows a college graduate to take in almost 4.3 times their salary, based on Raleigh’s average $3,505 college grad salary.
The catch? Raleigh ranks low on leisure, culture, bars, and restaurants. Jerry Maguire wouldn’t think twice. Show me the money!
