Mother’s Day came and went as fast as the money in my wallet after payday. As a child, we’d hand our mothers a finger painting of a heart, or some macaroni glued to a sheet of paper to form “Happy Mother’s Day!” – both of which cost us nothing. And she loved it.

Those were the days. Now we find ourselves spending a pretty penny on Godiva chocolates and some luxury spa treatment. Just how much money does it cost to say “Hey mom, thanks for putting up with me during my terrible teens?” Permuto.com provided us with the answers:
