High School Janitor Finds Python in Locker

The high school janitor is not an easy profession. High school janitors are often recognized as a quirky breed.

A strong case study is “Clem” in the 2001 David Spade film, “Joe Dirt.” Clem is played by the ever-charasmatic Christopher Walken:

Every janitor has a tale. Think about it: You rarely see a janitor in the same place twice. Is this becuase the profession is riddled with occupational hazards? I’m beginning to think so after reading about a high school custodian in Massachusetts:

A custodian cleaning out lockers at a Massachusetts high school was so shocked when a 3-foot-long snake fell at his feet that he didn’t even think it was real.

How did he figure out it was real? Well, it quickly coiled up into attack mode. Hello occupational hazard.

According to the story, Reardon didn’t panic:

He grabbed it behind the head as he had seen on nature TV shows. When he got off work at Newton North High School, he brought it to a local pet store, where workers identified it as a ball python.

Are you kidding me, Ed?

Pretty sure that shouldn't be in a LOCKER.

Don’t get me wrong, I watch “Man vs. Wild” and “Survivorman” marathons all the time, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t remember a damn thing if a snake coiled up right in front of me. I’m pretty sure I’d break every steadfast rule in the book.

And, furthermore, he really just let the snake chill out until his shift was over? Talk about dedicated. If I found a snake in the middle of my day, I think I’d take a few minutes to DISPOSE OF THE SNAKE.

Like I said…quirky breed…
