2010′s Best and Worst Jobs
When I was growing up, I never thought to be an actuary or a computer systems analyst.
But I should have.
Why? Because CareerCast.com is telling me I should have. The Web site has released a list of 200 jobs, ranked best to worst.
Coming in at No. 1: Actuary.
Coming in at No. 200: Roustabout.
Not a roustabout? Don’t worry, we’re not either. I looked it up for you
Performs routine physical labor and maintenance on oil rigs and pipelines, both on and off shore.
Sounds tough. But there are some jobs on there I thought would be sweet, but I guess aren’t…lumberjack (No. 199), disc jockey (No. 174), painter (No. 159), carpet installer (No. 169), you get my drift.
I just have one question about the list. Coming in AHEAD of lumberjack at No. 195 is garbage collector. Now, I don’t mean to hate on the garbage collectors out there, but how is that better than cutting down trees? I guess I haven’t seen “Ax Men” on the History Channel yet…
If you don’t care about the definitions, see the jobs on 4 pages instead of 10 (Wall St. Journal Online)
Have a sweet job that didn’t make it on this list? Should your job be ranked 201? We want to hear about it, so leave a comment.
